So, summer marches onward. Work's fine, and I'm happy for the rest. As usual, I'm getting bored. I get too bored too easily XD

Thankfully the fair is coming to town next week, so I'll go on tons of rides! And this week, I'll go to the Scandinavian Festival... omg Meat pies YUMmm. I'll be going on Finnish day (friday):D
Wish I could go on Swedish day… 'Tis in the blood. Afterwards, I'll be getting a nose stud, so I'm pretty excited about that!

Looks like I'm going to look forward to house sitting for my aunt; I'll be there for a week… all the way on the outskirts of Springfield… quite a ways a way. Don't tell her, but I'm bringing my cleaning equipment D:< Not really, but it's messy, and I'm gon' clean it DX

Last on the list… the tablet…. I think that the TABLET is the problem… I thought the pen wasn't registering my brush strokes(so to speak), but I noticed the opacity was off. That could only be a problem with the pressure sensors in the tablet…. YAY I gotta spend $100 to get a new one. Damn thing only lasted 2 years >:[

Oh, and I got tagged....

RULES:

1. You must post these rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you, and create new questions for the people you tag to answer.
3. You have to choose 10 people to tag and post their icons on your journal
4. Go to their pages and tell them you have tagged her/him.
5. No tag backs.
6. No crap in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you're reading this." You have to tag 10 people

:icongreenbrowngirl: greenbrowngirl's questions!
1. Artist or Writer?

Artist by nature, though I want to try writing stuff, too :) Well, kind of like writing a story that I'd transfer to a comic :p

2. What helps you create art/prose/poetry?

Well, I have to have a motivation or drive… I can't just sit down and do it; that has the opposite effect, actually. I like to have a cup of tea on hand, and I like to listen to quiet music(Classical, New Age, Easy Listening, all that…) to keep me focused.

3. Do you have other hobbies besides art/writing? If so, what?

I love to craft, which is an art in it's own way, but it's different from drawing. I love making plushies, beading earrings and macrome necklaces. I also LOOOOOOVE cooking! ♥

4. Do you use special tools to create?

I go with digital, mostly, but I like traditional media a LOT, too. I love to get my hands covered in graphite when I'm in an intense sketching mood XD

5. What inspires you?

To put it bluntly, the Unknown and Fantastical. Maybe it's the scientist in me, but I often find my mind wandering off into space… Or thoughts thereof. My love of world mythologies keeps finding me new stories of people and creatures that give me design ideas.

6. Do you have a role model/muse? Who are they?

There are a few artists here, like yuumei and Hellobaby, who I admire. I don't have many anymore, though…I used to have a billion because imitating another's style helps you learn. NEVER COPY IT, just practice by looking. It never looks the same as the artist, but it's a skill that you can change to suit your tastes.
What I used to do: "I love how Whatsisface draws eyes…. I like how Whosamajiggy uses so many colors…. Imma try for myself!"*Gets completely different results*"Huh… Still looks cool, though!"

7. Are you more inclined toward fan works or original pieces?

Well, I post more fan stuff, since it helps me get in touch with people and make friends here and there, but my sketch book is mostly original stuff… I intend to post some of them when I get a new tablet pen…

8. What is one goal that you'd like to achieve with your work?

I've never been one to shoot for the stars to change the world, but I'd love to make a comic someday. Also, I and Hawk-Moth hve been working on a project, in which I illustrate one of her poems.
We're almost done and you guys will be the first to know :)

9. Is there anything you'd like to improve about your style?

I've been trying to get away from such an "anime" style, and more into western cutting edge styles, which I just adore. I'm not saying I don't like anime anymore(believe me, that's not the case XD), I'm just trying to change it up a bit by merging elements from each style into a unique blend I can call my own :)

10. How do you handle artist/writer's block?

COFFEEE…. AND MUSIC. Mostly music, though. I like to listen to things with lyrics chock full of imagery; it really gets the creative juices pumping. My faves are Nightwish, Mägo de Oz, and Loreena McKinnett.

My questions for YOU~!

1)What is your prefferred art medium(OBVIOUSLY writing is art, guys D:<)?

2)Have you ever spent time creating a world of a character with a lot of depth? If so, what was the process like for you?

3)Do you have a "happy place" you like to think about to get into a good mood? Where is it?

4)If you were a wizard, what would your animagus be and why?

5)Do you have a favorite famous person?

6)Describe your style in one word.

7)Have you ever filled a sketchbook or journal with your work? How many? (for strictly digital people, how many GB?)

8)How far do you want to go with your work?

9)Weapon of choice given a zombipocalypse strikes the globe?

10)Do you dream in color or black&white?
(I know… the last 2 I couldn't think of much D:<)
